HAMILTON, N.Y. -- Former Secretary of State and New York Senator Hillary Clinton made her return to Central New York. She spoke at Colgate University in Hamilton, three weeks after her visit to Hamilton College.
Her speech was part of the Global Leaders series at the college. Clinton addressed a wide range of topics, including government surveillance, the ongoing rise of China as a world power, and the current situation in Afghanistan.
"Despite all of the challenges, and you alluded to corruption, which is endemic not just in Afghanistan but in so many of the places where we are present, there has been an enormous amount of change that has given the Afghan people and their leadership the chance to consolidate the gains," said Clinton.
Other speakers in the Global Leaders series have included former President Bill Clinton, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, and the Dalai Lama.
