DEWITT, N.Y. -- A Safe Kids Day Expo was held Sunday in DeWitt.
In 2012, a 2-year-old girl was killed when a television fell on top of her. Her family held the Safety Expo designed to prevent such tragedies from happening.
The expo is in its second year and includes lots of games and activities for the whole family.
"So we want the kids to grab it as well as the parents. Not only go, this is fun, but I never knew this and go home and improve the safety of their own homes," said Scott Deming, Safe And Sound with Amaya Co-Founder.
"The guidelines for the car seats, like when do they go into the next one. How long they need to be in booster, and they had a little flier on that and I thought that was really cool because I didn't know," said Alison Meade, a parent.
The Dewitt Police and Fire Departments, Onondaga County Sherriff’s Department, Poison Control Center, YMCA, Safe and Sound with Amaya, all participated in the event.
