WATERTOWN, N.Y. - -The city of Watertown is looking into fixing traffic issues in Public Square. Engineers have studied the traffic lights throughout the square, specifically at the Franklin Street intersection. Cars continuously have blocked crosswalks, causing some concern with city council.
City engineers believe the best solution is re-timing the lights to adjust to traffic patterns, but they can't do it right away.
City engineer Kurt Hauk said, "We want to get some additional training because this is going to be quite an in-depth model and then next spring start gathering that information."
The city already has the necessary software for the project.
